The Baby Sherpa Diaper Backpack has got everyone talking, at least in Hollywood. Brad Pitt has one (which means nothing, really, but we’d thought we’d mention it anyway) and these bags were selected to be included in the celebrity swag bag at the Emmy’s last year. What’s so great, you ask? It’s a 4-in-1 diaper bag, cooler, video and parent pack all in one. It retails for about $90 USD, and is available for shipping from Canada.

Features include:

  • Deep inside compartment with zippered pocket
  • Soft sided cooler uniquely integrated into the backpack to store bottles, snacks, beverages, medication (holds 6-8 canned beverages)
  • Modular insulated pocket holds large-size brand name bottles, mesh water bottle holder
  • Padded pocket to hold a video camera or breast pump
  • Secure, interior parent zip pouch for wallet and a key clasp
  • “Tough as nails” zippers feature easy pulls

Wee Travel’s Hip Baby Travel Gear Blog – Baby Chair Harness

Wee Travel Baby Equipment Rentals (Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria) loves everything about this baby chair harness except for the fact that it’s not yet available in Canada (at least as far as we know). The site isn’t in english, but from what we can tell, this very cool harness hangs over a chair and also fits into your pocket. This pocket seat works by attaching to an ordinary cafe or dinner chair. You can use it from the time your child can sit upright by him- or herself at approximately 6 months until 2 years of age. When not in use, the “pocket seat” folds into an integrated pouch.

Wondering how to get your carseat through the airport? Turn it into a stroller…

So your tot has turned two. The free ride is over. You’re paying for that empty seat beside you now. The ‘fasten your seat belt’ sign is turned on. You buckle your little one in, and notice the seat belt goes up to his armpits. How safe can that be? You thought about shelpping the car seat, but with 3 suitcases, a baby, a stroller and a carry-on…you get the picture.

Enter the gogo Kidz Travelmate. It’s a car seat attachment that allows the seat (and child) to be wheeled through the airport just as you’d wheel a suitcase. It can easily maneuver down the aisle of an airplane and can remain attached to the car seat without interferring with the seat or the safety belt. You can rent it from us for $5/day or $25/week (weetravel.ca)

Infants and toddlers deserve the same protection that is provided to other airline passengers. The cool gizmo makes it easy to take the car seat and keep the kids safe.

Traveling with Wee Ones? Renting Gear is the Way to Go

You’re taking your little one on her first trip to grandma’s house. It’s just the girls traveling this time – aka you and the baby. That means there are 2 hands and 10 fingers to carry a baby, a car seat, a stroller, 2 suitcases, a pack n’ play, carry-on luggage, and a booster seat. And what are you going to do without that swing and bouncy chair for a week?

The thought of traveling is stressful enough. The thought of spending a week without the two hours of daily bliss you get when baby falls asleep in the swing is all the birth control you need for the next little while.

Before you book an appointment with your therapist/energy healer/yogi to help you on this particular journey, you may want to think about renting gear from a baby equipment rental agency in your area.

Renting provides some definite advantages. First and foremost, it means you can still travel with just a suitcase, and a carry-on. Secondly, it beats borrowing from friends, as you can never be sure if old or borrowed equipment has been recalled or meets today’s safety standards. Finally, rental prices are very reasonable (even cheap) and the companies deliver right to your door.

We’ve made it our mission to make it easy for parents to travel lighter and safer. In business since 2004, we provide a full range of the latest and greatest in baby gear so that parents can pack light and have everything their baby needs for an enjoyable trip.

Parents are often worried that rental gear will be dirty, stained and old, but our equipment is in immaculate condition. Everything is safety inspected and sanitized prior to delivery, and we are absolutely meticulous about our cleaning. We upgrade our stock on a regular basis to ensure our customers get the latest gear in new condition – and we only carry the highest rated brands. We hear time and time again from our customers that our stuff looks brand new.

Wee Travel currently has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, and Victoria and is expanding to other Canadian cities.

Interested in renting? In Toronto contact lesley@weetravel.ca or call 416.737.1622. For Vancouver and Victoria inquiries contact shana@weetravel.ca or call 604.222.4722.
